What software do you use to encrypt your data?

What software do you use to encrypt your data?

As in the previous post, I introduced the importance and utility of using encrypted data. Today I want to introduce to you some of the best encryption software. This includes both paid and free software.

1- AxCrypt

The first software on the list I want to introduce to you is the AxCrypt software. AxCrypt makes encryption simple enough for any user, and it even offers public key cryptography for the secure sharing of encrypted files.

Strong encryption: File security with 128-bit or 256-bit encryption.

Cloud storage awareness: Automatically secure your files in Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.

Multilingual: AxCrypt speaks English, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish, Russian, Polish, and more to come.

Collaboration: Allow secured files to be opened by other AxCrypt users with their passwords.

Password management: Manage and access your passwords seamlessly wherever you are.

AxCrypt App Mobile: Encrypt and decrypt files on your Android phone, iPhone, or tablet from anywhere at any time.

2- Veracrypt

VeraCrypt is an open-source program. It is 100% free software. VeraCrypt is a popular option in the enterprise-grade encryption market for Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.

VeraCrypt offers many alternative encryption modes, as well as a combination of protection algorithms to ensure a high level of security for data containers. Make the partition saved in the file format in the specified location and selected according to the encryption algorithm.

VeraCrypt program supports Serpent algorithm, AES, Twofish, and some algorithmic combination of the above three algorithms. Users can check benchmarks to determine the algorithm before applying it to executable files and need to locate the storage space they want to use, based on the amount of available storage in the system. In particular, the user needs to set the password open rule drive connection.

Speaking of algorithmic encryption delegates, it is impossible to mention Encrypt Files that encrypt and decrypt files to prevent any goods and unauthorized from other users, besides Encrypt Files can permanently delete files. information in cases of need.

3- Boxcryptor.

If you are concerned about the security of data stored on the "cloud" DropBox service, you can use BoxCryptor with advanced encryption. No people can open the data even if they have your DropBox account.

BoxCryptor uses the AES-256bit algorithm to encrypt data, the encryption process will not affect the backup and synchronization of data as well as storage space, this application works very well on the Windows platform and Good protection for data on DropBox.

In addition, an advantage of the AES-256bit encryption method is that it is well compatible with the EncFS file system, so the data encrypted by BoxCryptor is completely viewable on Linux and Mac OS.

On the homepage of BoxCryptor, there are three versions: Free, Unlimited Personal, Unlimited Business for you to choose from. For the free version, you can encrypt folders up to 2GB in size and create virtual drives. Two paid versions allow unlimited data encryption and support many advanced features.

4- Kruptos 2

Kruptos 2 Professional is the most professional version used to lock and encrypt all your sensitive files and folders including photos, movies, credit card data, tax returns, or any other private documents. Kruptos 2 works wherever you are, coding and editing on your favorite platform.

Kruptos 2 Professional uses military-grade 256-bit AES encryption to secure your data. Your files are locked even if your computer or phone is stolen or broken into. It also supports encryption of your Dropbox, Microsoft OneDrive, Apple iCloud, or Google Drive files with cloud encryption, and the data shredding is completely and seamlessly integrated.

Features of Kruptos 2 Professional

Encrypt PDF

Password protect your photos and movies

Secure every document on your computer

Encrypt any file on your Android device

Password protect your USB device

Dropbox, Google Drive, and OneDrive file encryption

Send encrypted email

Encrypt create a self-extracting (EXE) file

Works on: Windows, Mac OSx Drives, Android & USB

Along with many other security features...Kruptos 2.

5- Cryptomator

Cryptomator is a free, open-source, and cross-platform software tool licensed under the GPLv3. 1- Cryptomator provides client-side encryption for your cloud storage files, it is available for Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, and Android.

The tool is easy to use, supports any cloud storage provider in syncing with a local folder.

You don't even need to specify which cloud you use. Cryptomator encrypts files and doesn't care where you store them. This makes it a lightweight application.

Because Cryptomator uses client-side encryption, that means your data is encrypted first and then synced to the cloud storage service.

The encoder encrypts the content and filenames using the AES algorithm, the password is protected against brute force attempts using script.

Compared to other disk encryption utilities, Cryptomator encrypts each file individually. Therefore, if you only edit a small text file, only that file is re-encrypted. Other files will not be affected. This is an advantage when syncing data to the cloud. When syncing data to the cloud, only changed files will sync again. As for the files that do not change, they do not have to be synced to the cloud again

In my opinion, this software is the best way to encrypt files for us to upload data to the cloud

Features

Works with Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, MEGA, pCloud, ownCloud, Nextcloud, and any other cloud storage service which synchronizes with a local directory

Open Source means No backdoors, control is better than trust

Client-side: No accounts, no data shared with any online service

Totally transparent: Just work on the virtual drive as if it were a USB flash drive

AES encryption with the 256-bit key length

File names get encrypted

Folder structure gets obfuscated

Use as many vaults in your Dropbox as you want, each having individual passwords

Three thousand commits for the security of your data!!

6- Winrar or 7-zip...

They are also very good encryption software. But they are not convenient to sync to the cloud. Because each time we need to modify the content during file compression. We have to compress and re-sync that file to the cloud instead of just syncing a modified file

These are just a few of the many encryption software that I would like to introduce to you. In the following articles, I will introduce the specific use of some software encryption tools.

See you in the next posts.
